Out of state Speeding ticket.?

I recently moved to North Carolina from New York. I do not plan on being here that long and still have my New york license and insurance through new york state. I received a speeding ticket of 44 in a 34mph zone and paid the fine. While looking through information online i ran across a few sites saying that New York and colorado do not put points on your license or record accrued from other states. Is this true?
