hi patrick, that is close enough for an upgrade dig this install a Nvidia 8800gtx or a Nvidia 9800gtx that ones new what it is for is a gaming high performance card. it can handle the heat that gaming radiates plus give you the performance that you want and need but if you have an extra pci slot then i highly recommend the two Nvidia 9500 gtx bridged now we are talking true 3d go to tiger direct then video cards and pick the 9500 go down that page and see how it installs now that's what i'm talking about you would be the envy to all of your friends but you need that other slot. good luck hope i was helpful to you
