Americans, about 9/11?

I remember the exact day. I was a senior in high school and I was sitting in front of the TV before school. I saw the first plane hit and I woke up my Mom not really knowing what was going on. I left for school and when I got there I learned it was a terrorist attack. I was about 3000 miles away but, like you said, it just seemed surreal. I can't really imagine what it was like for the people in New York, much less the people that knew any of the victims of these attacks. I don't have any ties to the East Coast at all, but it still hit close to home that something like this could happen anywhere in the world, much less in my own country.
