Let us look into when cat and dog were wildlife. How/where did cats/dogs survive? and what were they like?

The wild ancestors of dogs and cats still exist. Dogs were domesticated from the Gray Wolf, about 11,000 years ago, and cats were domesticated from the African Wild Cat slightly later, in the Middle East. Much of dog behavior can be understood by observing wolf packs, and much of cat behavior can be understood by observing cats of all sizes, from African wild cats to the largest tigers.
