Keep up with the cleaning, and make sure to keep your cats on whatever medications and treatments your vet has given you for them. The medications and treatments will not only get rid of the ringworm on the cats, but make it so that the spores do not spread as readily as they do when untreated. It won't take anywhere near a few years. Depending on how bad the infections were, be prepared for a month or two of various ringworm sightings on you and your boyfriend, but once the cats are healthy again, you will be too.
